A Distributed Pathway for Existing Chiller-System Renewal

A distributed pathway for selected existing hydronic buildings: retain viable water-system assets, renew central plant strategy and evaluate modular EcoComfort thermal-energy subsystems.

Retain Viable Hydronic Infrastructure. Renew the Plant Strategy.

For suitable existing buildings, EcoComfort can be assessed as a pathway to retain serviceable water-system infrastructure while replacing or supplementing central cooling/heating plant with distributed or modular thermal-energy subsystems.

Retain Where Suitable

Existing hydronic pipework, selected pumps, valves, terminals, plant rooms and risers may be considered for retention after engineering review.

Renew Where Required

Central chiller/heating plant, controls, incompatible terminals, pumps, storage and heat-exchanger interfaces can be assessed for replacement or upgrade.

Stage the Upgrade

Distributed subsystems may support staged renewal by floor, wing, zone or operating profile where building services and project constraints permit.

Important: this is a project-development pathway, not a blanket performance claim. Existing water temperatures, flows, terminal compatibility, pipe condition, controls, plant space and compliance must be reviewed.

Potential Project Benefits

Distributed Capacity

Capacity can be divided across modules or zones instead of relying only on one central machine.

Better Load Matching

Staged modules can respond to variable building loads according to the project control strategy.

Serviceability

Modularity may support staged isolation and maintenance where hydraulics, valves and redundancy are designed accordingly.
